Car Tag Purchase
Requirements for Purchase of Car Tags
- Original title signed by owner or owners as shown on front of title
- Odometer disclosure statement if vehicle is newer than 10 years.
- Copy of current tag receipt if purchased from individual to verify back taxes or delinquent garbage fees are due.
- New owner or owners must be present to sign title application unless a notarized power of attorney form is being presented.
- Window sticker with MSRP for new cars.
If You Already Have a Title Application
- Title Application
- Copy of current tag or if purchased from an individual
- Verification that no back taxes or garbage fees are due.
- Window sticker with MSRP for new cars.
- Seller should remove license plate from the vehicle and Surrender the tag and receipt to the tax collector’s office for Credit towards another tag or a certificate of credit. NoRefunds.
